In the pc and it made sound using hardware Using the bullbleep terminology that is common I'm just a little stumped though because I see that some of the sound cards like the ones from m-audio give you the ins and outs on the card but I wouldn't necessarily need that with an interface right? Is the card boosting the quality while giving me the option of ins/outs? I know the question is probably subjective to the card but I'm trying hard to wrap my head around this.an interface *IS* a sound card I saw some cards ranging from $20-$200 and I guess it's just a matter of looking into what will meet my needs. is it necessary to upgrade the sound card although I have an interface?

Let me not get away from my question though. I need 8 inputs, simultaneous recording to individual tracks, and the 8 analog out is nice). I was wondering if to improve the sound quality on my computer (cough cough an emachine cough cough) would I need to upgrade the sound card although I plan on getting a new interface (have a behringer board with a built in interface but plan on moving up to a pro fire 2626. I looked through the forums and could't find anything that really answered my question.
